ELK's "Memories of Pittsburgh"

I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pa and have attempted to recreate many of my childhood memories on our "Memories of Pittsburgh" layout. As a third generation model railroader I have included Pittsburgh scenes of significance to my family.
My grandfather worked at the U. S. Steel Edgar Thomson Works in Braddock, Pa. so I am in the process of building a working model of the remaining blast furnace at "ET".
My father worked for Westinghouse for 47 years so I have included the Westinghouse Plant and Office Building on the layout.
My first job was with The Joseph Horne Dept. Store so its' downtown store appears on the layout.
Other scenes depict businesses that were in Pittsburgh when I was growing up and of course I had to include a working model of The Duquesne Incline.
We started work on our "O" Scale layout in the spring of 2007. We used Atlas track and switches along with rolling stock from MTH, Lionel, K-Line & Atlas. Many buildings were scratch built and others are from MTH, Lionel, Korber, DPM, Ameri-Towne, Woodland Scenics and International Hobby Corp. Figures are mostly from Artista, Lionel and Woodland Scenics. Cars and trucks are from a variety of manufacturers.
